Spectrum scope Bandedge Fix

Hello,

just a Idea.

It is posible to cange the Spectrum scope to fix the Bandedge? Example: 40M 7.000 left and right point to 7.200 and see the whole band&move within? Like on IC7800. Is planned to extend the bandwidth > 192 kHz?

'Bookmark' feature to add to PowerSDR?

A suggestion ofr future development.

The Flex as we all know is extremely powerful when searching around a band. Simply clikcng a trace allows you to see who/what is where. However, on a busy band, when you click a position/caller, the whole screen moves and therefore, you can end up clicking on the traces you already have due to the fact they are now in a position.

How about a right click feature where as you can add a callsign to a trace and it will track the trace around the band (similar to the TNF filter scenario). Then as you are spinning through the band, A tag with a callsign will be tracking each trace you have already listened too.

If the tag was attached to zero beat, should one station go and another occupy the position, maybe the tag would change colour and ultimatley fade out if not re-visited after a time to confirm.

I beleive this would be a hugely popular feature that again would knock the coptetition for six!

I would like to see future versions of PowerSDR include an option to set a default for ATU which keeps it active when switching bands, instead of having to manually re-activate it each time the band is switched.

Plugin Interface

It would be great if there was a way for 3rd party plugins to be written for PowerSDR. For example, WSJT, skimmer, SSTV, logging, rotor control, transverter/relay control, etc. software could be ported to a PowerSDR Plugin, allowing for a clean customizable interface for operating a station. I imagine this could be especially useful during contesting, to be able to have different workspaces for different modes or bands, making switching between them as simple as clicking a button.

I think this could lead to a whole new dimension of innovation, further seperating SDR from previous generations of transcievers.

Is this feasable, or maybe all ready in the works?

I Need help for my Xbox 360 please?
Ok so I'm not sure if it matters but I have the Halo 3 Edition Xbox 360 and lately it's been playing for only a short time then two red lights start flashing and it shuts off completely I can turn it on again right after if I unplug it but it only stays on for about 5-10min
So what's wrong? It's in a ventilated area and nothing is laying on the ground for it to heat up super fast. Can I get it fixed? If so where and how much will it cost?

Adjustable NB threshold on front panel

It would be good if the Noise Blanker Threshold was adjustable on the front panel/main display rather than having to go into the DSP menu to adjust it everytime.

QRM changes by the hour here and is different on each band so I find myself constantly needing to adjust this setting and this is a pain at present.

Temp and Voltage

I noticed that if I press Control + Shift + I, I can monitor the temperature of the finals and the input voltage. Is there anyway to integrate that into the default skin somewhere in a future release or maybe allow it to be in the multi-meter selection?

I don't know why I like to see the temperature but it makes me feel more comfortable.

Option for no-iambic single-lever keyer?

MultiRX enhancement for digital operation

I think the MultiRX feature on PSDR is kind of neat in some ways especially on SSB but even on digital modes it can be somewhat useful.

However, I think it could be much more useful IF instead of separating the two RX audio bandwidths into the left and right speakers -- keep the main receiver in both left and right speakers AND run the 2nd RX to a different virtual audio cable.

It could be set up to run either the way it runs now - OR in the way I just described when in digital mode.

That would allow me to open a second copy of my digital program (just for receive) and set it to the V.A.C. that the 2nd Rx is on while the main Rx still uses the V.A.C. that was assigned to it. That would give me the capability to have to copies of my digital software (for me FLDigi) running AND simultaneously decoding digi signals in different 3khz segments of the 48khz width of my Flex 1500.

Currently, I can still open 2 sessions of FLDigi and copy 2 different digi signals in the SAME 3khz (actually FLDigi can do 4khz audio segment) -- BUT NOT in separate 3khz segments inside the 48khz width of the my Flex WITHOUT OVERLAYING the audio of both on the same waterfall.

IF the MultiRX could route that to another V.A.C. that would mean I could set the 2nd session of FLDigi to that V.A.C. and hence NOT have any overlaying of the two.

I'm NOT sure if that is even possible BUT it sounds like it might be doable to me and would make the MultiRX much more useful for digital operators than the current configuration.

low vision / blind operators

Just had a though, has anybody though about the blind or vision impaired operators?

I know that my vision is fading away a little to quick for my liking in one eye so far, now having the best SDR radio on the market and using it, it has been designed software wise for some one with eye sight...

I know some one that is legally blind with the same condition as myself, if lucky the discoid macula edema will leave me some sight around the edges but could the software be made to 'talk' to a program called jaws it is used for people that are blind to use computers, in fact I have seen a person using this program and you would think that he had full sight in fact he would be quicker on the keyboard than me!!
Or is there some out there that has a solution?

Separate Transmitter

It would be nice to have the option of using the Flex as just a RX and inhibiting it's TX in favor of an outboard radio of the users choice!

It would require a RX Mute on TX (from the outboard radio) with an ANT change-over relay output....

Actually, I've just figured out how to do it using a sequencer and ANT relay - new lease of life for my Flex1500! :w00t:

Enhancements for SDR 2.0 interface

[1] In the top center section of the SDR window I would like to see 3-5 "radio" buttons that could hold the tune steps desired, they would be set on a setup page and selectable on the main window. I find that I often use 10Hz, 100Hz, and 1KHz but to switch between those values is a effort. I would take less room, be easier to read and quicker to choose.

[2] Likewise I would like to see just below those a set of 3-5 "radio" buttons that would hold the current value of the VFO settings when pressed and held for a few seconds (or a double click) and would retrieve those settings with a single click. In short offer more than one memory. Perhaps the frequency could display as a "tool tip" if you pause over the button of choice.

[3] Fix the Enhancements page - when you try the link it crashes saying it is full -- "This is not the place to submit enhancements for PowerSDR. Submit enhancements to the Enhancements area on the FlexRadio Support page."

Spectrum Grid Display and IF(hz)

I found that on my operation (mostly digital) I was going into the settings dialog more often for 2 reasons.

1. Spectrum Grid (Display tab)
I was constantly adjusting the Min and Max spectrum grid to coincide with band condx and or noise levels -- both of which are volatile and change often. I would want the deliniation line (between above and below the noise level) about 10db above the bottom of the window - so adjusting the Min. settings would move that. And sometimes I wanted to really be able to spot very weak signals so (in addition to also using magnification) I would adjust the Max setting to more easily see them on the display.

I created, from source code, my own version of PowerSDR (based off of 2.08) where I put up/down controls for the Min + Max display values in the center area of the main screen at the top where the VFO Sync, VFO Lock, and other controls reside. I was able to do a little rearranging so they all fit nicely. I also added code so they and their counterparts in the settings dialog updated each other.

I think others might find it nice to have these Min and Max Spectrum controls on the main screen.

2. I was also constantly adjusting the "expert" DDS IF(hz) control in the Hardware Config tab depending on the band I was on and what part of the spectrum I wanted to be able to see at the same time.

I finally added another slider control to the main screen. I shortened the Pan and Zoom control which did NOT have to be as wide as they were to make room for another slider that would adjust between -19000 and +19000 IF(hz) settings (to give me plenty of lattitude seeting the red center marker) without causing any other problems. It works nicely and I can set the center IF red marker to either end or anywhere in between without going to the settings dialog now. It updates it's settings to the corresponding control in the settings dialog too.

Again, many others, I am sure would like this on their main screen too though I admit that some would just be more confused.

Just some food for thought.

Tx Bandwidth

how about a slider on the front panel, maybe near the RX filter width, for TX filter width.
having to go into setup and change it is a little cumbersome.
would be nice to be able to adjust TX bandwidth during a QSO as band conditions/congestion changes.

Disable Keyboard

I remember reading about it someplace but can't find it now but when operating CW or any other mode, sometimes when typing a call into my nGENLOG logging program, it tells the SDR display to do some wierd things, thereby losing my spot on a band. Can the keyboard be disabled since I use only my trackball mouse for changes. Thanks

I have bought a 3DConnexion SPACENAVIGATOR (http://www.3dconnexion.com). This inputdevice would be a good solution to operate with powerSDR.

Multiple function could be controlled with the various motions of the spacenavigator. Unfortunately this device have to be supported by the powerSDR-Program.

Someone using PowerSDR with a Spacenavigator?

RX Bandwidth

I realize I can customize TX and RX filters by dragging them, but instead of "Var 1" and "Var 2" filter options, I'd like a drop-down menu called "Receive Profile" that would work like "Transmit Profile" works now. I could pre-define limitless receive bandwidths and choose them from the drop-down menu. This would free up Var 1 and Var 2 for other fixed filter widths.

The new "Receive Profile" drop-down menu could be placed under the "Transmit Profile" drop-down menu, and the "Show TX Filter on Display" could become a button under "TX EQ" (instead of a check-off box) to obtain front panel symmetry.

Thanks for considering my suggestion.
